Our first bespoke purpose-built teaching facility, First Strokes Stanway, was opened in 2003 by the Lord Mayor of Colchester.
Starting with just 700 students, the pool has grown into a huge success, welcoming many thousands through its doors over the years.
The centre is perfectly designed to provide a comfortable and relaxing experience for both swimmers and spectators, catering for all ages and abilities. We run swimming lessons every day, and trial lessons are available on request to help you get started.
Our popular JUST SWIM sessions are open to the public—We require pre-booking and offer pay as you go. Whether you’re looking to build fitness, gain confidence in the water, or enjoy a relaxing swim, everyone is welcome.
