Parent and Child Lessons

Parent and Child classes are available for children aged from 4 months to 2 1/2 years old

Parent and Child classes have a maximum of 9 children in a class, with one instructor and the participation of the parents

Equipment Required

Aqua nappy and arm bands

Adult goggles - optional for parents to see children underwater

Techniques Taught

Aquatic breathing, using the ready go system. This is pre-warned submersion, using the natural mammalian diving reflex. The children are taught simple survival skills to help prepare them for any incident that may occur in and around water. Additionally with the use of buoyancy aids an through play, the children are taught to float, move and become independent in the water

Children can achieve the Swan and Duckling awards. Parents will help develop their child's water confidence which will assist with the smooth progression to the starfish classes
