Our Lessons
We believe that swimming is a life skill and that learning should be fun and enjoyable
Our approach to learning makes sure that whatever your ability you will be able to improve and enjoy your time in the water
First Strokes model each lesson to suit the individual student's abilities within a group lesson
A fully qualified teacher leads each small class of just 8 children, with assistants in the water when required.
Swimmers work at their own pace within a small class, and a low teaching ratio of instructor to pupils - this has proven to build up even the weakest swimmers confidence and ability in the quickest time
The First Strokes Difference
Our lessons range from babies to adults, and include beginners to club members enabling us to create confident swimmers of all ages and abilities.
Based on low teacher to pupil ratios and quality teaching by qualified instructors, we make learning to swim both informative and enjoyable.
Instructors are based in the water, where required, to allow for clear instructions and assistance.
We use a bespoke and innovative awards scheme with a badge and certificate every term, at no additional charge.
Wenormally run Five 10 week terms, of 30 minute lessons which run throughout the whole year, to maximise consistency and progression.
We provide comfortable viewing areas and excellent facilities with warm water temperature suitable for young children.
Re-enrolment is simple, and can either be completed online or in person, with priority for existing customers.

Group Lessons are £8.00 Per Lesson, and a Term of 10 weeks costs £80.00
Private Lessons
1-2-1 Lessons £20.00 per half hour
2-2-1 Lessons £25.00 per half hour
