Epic! You can swim with Taylor Turtle!

Further development of the basic skills are covered, including water safety and survival skills and body position. The first two main strokes are introduced by teaching front and back paddle and developing arm and leg coordination.

Children are taught to swim out of their depth, to eliminate any fears of deep water. Submerging, aquatic breathing practices, water confidence and familiarisation are all introduced and further developed. Children should be aiming to achieve their 5m and 10m Distance Awards at this level.

With practice, progression will lead to competence in the perfomance of the skills. To confirm competence the student should be able to perform the skill with consistent reliabilty, based on:- Introduction, Development, Competence and Consistence.
