Starfish Level

2 1/2 years upwards

Wow! You can swim with Sydney Starfish!

A range of water skills including coordination, movements on both front and back, along with simple floating practices, safety and survival skills are covered.

Through play and a more structured approach your child will be taught to swim unaided with a combination of instructor’s assistance and buoyancy aids. Our main aim at this stage is to build water confidence and for the children to swim a short distance without the use of buoyancy aids.

With practice, progression will lead to competence in the perfomance of the skills. To confirm competence the student should be able to perform the skill with consistent reliabilty, based on:- Introduction, Development, Competence and Consistence.
